◌ SignalComment visibilityMethod & limits

One comment. One public signal.

A “shadowban” is not something this tool can diagnose from a username or a button press. A useful, smaller question is whether a specific comment can be returned without signing in as its author.

Run a deliberate lookup

  1. Get a public YouTube comment permalink containing lc=, or use the exact comment ID.
  2. Paste it into the checker. A video URL by itself does not identify a comment. Extra URL parameters are discarded locally.
  3. Read and accept the privacy and service terms. The ID will be sent to Google, not stored as a visitor profile.
  4. Read the actual result and observation time. A two-minute cache can reuse an earlier observation.

How the evidence works

The server makes a single public, read-only YouTube comments.list request with part=id and one ID filter. It requests neither comment text nor author information. A returned identifier must match exactly.

ResultInterpretation
Public matchThat exact ID was returned by the public API. The provided video relationship, watch-page ordering and channel history were not inspected.
No comment returnedThe requested comment was not returned. Wrong IDs, removal and visibility constraints remain possible; a channel shadowban is not established.
Access or quota restrictionThe lookup could not determine visibility. The result is about the attempted request, not your channel.
Timeout or unsupported responseNo reliable visibility evidence was obtained. Avoid interpreting a technical failure as absence.

What to do with uncertainty

First confirm that you copied the exact comment link. You can separately inspect the public comment in a normal signed-out view or ask someone you trust to look, without posting any new comment. Different contexts may show different results. This tool neither reads private account state nor tells you the reason for moderation.
